    What will I be doing?


    A Sous Chef within Hilton will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest experience as well as Team member experience.

    Specifically, the Sous Chef will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:


    · Together with the Executive chef, create menus that meet and exceed guest’s expectations

    · Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of menu items, special promotions, functions and events

    · Ensure a consistent production of high quality food working close to the team throughout all hotel food outlets

    · Be environmentally aware and work in line with Hiltons sustainability programs

    · Ensure food control systems and food wastage program is adhered to so that margins are on target

    · Develop positive guest relations through proactive interaction with Guests, Team Members, contractors, and suppliers

    · Actively seek verbal feedback from guests on a regular basis. Together with the Executive chef, evaluate offerings to exceed guest expectations.

    · Together with the Executive chef you will manage, train and develop the kitchen team

    · Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation

    · Ensure maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues are dealt with in a timely manner

    · To work in line with Hilton values at all times


    What are we looking for?


    You have experience working in a kitchen environment. Are you a Sous chef today looking for your next challenge? Or you might be working as a chef today and strive to become a kitchen leader and are ready for your next step in your career?

    · A relevant trade qualification from an educational institution or equal work experience is necessary

    · We see that you understand the importance of a business focused approach to managing a kitchen

    · You have the ability to build relationships, both internal and external

    · Great and efficient communication skills

    · Planning and organizational skills

    · You enjoy and have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

    · Beneficial if you have some knowledge and proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office programs, Outlook as well as a Time management system
